Authorities have identified a potential suspect in the case of a college student Sudiksha Konank who disappeared on spring break trip to the Dominican Republic while they continue their search to find 20-year-old American student of University of Pittsburgh.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, Konanki's hometown, said Joshua Riibe was seen with the student at a resort before she went missing, spokesperson Chad Quinn told USA TODAY.
Riibe told authorities they both went into the ocean, but he felt sick, got out of the water, and fell asleep on a lounge chair, according to the source.
Another law enforcement source briefed on the investigation said Riibe was interviewed by police several times and provided different details but there were no significant inconsistencies in his recounting of the events that night. The source said translation issues may have been a reason for the differences.
It was also reported that some of Konanki's clothes were found on a beach chair with no signs of violence.
A week ago, Konanki went to the Dominican Republic resort town of Punta Cana with five friends for spring break. Authorities report that she was last spotted early Thursday on the beach with her friends. Earlier, police stated that surveillance footage showed five women and one man leaving the beach around 6 a.m. Thursday. Konanki apparently stayed behind with a man, and surveillance video shows him leaving the beach area hours later without her.
The missing person posters detail Konanki as being 5 feet 3 inches in height, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last observed wearing a brown bikini, large round earrings, a metal designer anklet on her right leg, yellow and steel bracelets on her right wrist, and a multicolored beaded bracelet on her left wrist.
