Zac Efron makes his first red carpet appearance in over three years at the World premiere of “The Greatest Beer Run Ever” on Tuesday at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The 34-year-old actor donned a grey suit with a black button up shirt for the red carpet while greeting fans and signing autographs outside Roy Thomson Hall.
Efron stars as John Donohue in The Greatest Beer Run Ever, set in 1967, and tells the story of a 26-year-old U.S. Marine Corps veteran who’s working as a merchant seaman. One night Donohue is challenged in a New York City bar when a friend proposes the idea that one of them sneak into Vietnam, track down their buddies in combat, and give each of them messages of support from back home and a can of beer. The movie also stars Russell Crowe and Bill Murray.
The Greatest Beer Run Ever is based on the New York Times best-selling book of the same name by J. T. Molloy and John "Chickie" Donohue. Filming for The Greatest Beer Run Ever began in September 2021 and the film was shot between Thailand and New Jersey. Skydance Media aquired the rights for a film adaption of the book.
