A Beverly Hilton hotel maid found Lady Gaga’s dress she wore when she won an award for “A Star is Born,” at the 2019 Golden Globes, after cleaning the pop star’s room after the show.
The 24 year old hotel employee claims she turned the dress into the Beverly Hilton lost and found. The Beverly Hilton security held the gown for over 8 months and then, per hotel policy, the dress was given back to the maid after no one claimed it.
The maid put the dress up for auction to cash in until Valentino found out and reps for the famous designer filed a report with the police claiming that dress was stolen. The dress was loaned to the queen of pop for the special day from Haute Couture designer, Valentino.
The custom Valentino gown is completed in two separate parts: the strapless floor length gown with its own train, and then the dramatic off-shoulder pouffed sleeves attached to the voluminous train measuring 10 feet long. Gown measures approximately 54'' from top of bodice front to floor, 26'' around the waist, and 92'' from top of bodice back to the end of the train. Second piece features off the shoulder sleeves measuring approximately 16'' in diameter - resembling a flower's bloom, 16'' from sleeve to sleeve, and then ten feet of train. Valentino Haute Couture labels appear on both parts.
The stunning Valentino dress was almost held from from the auction block. According to a TMZ report, -- A rep for the auction house said the auction will continue as planned, and they followed proper procedures in obtaining the dress. The auction is on Halloween via Nate D. Sanders Auctions – with a minimum bid of $8,000 – is set to close on Oct. 31.
