Cinemark is rolling out the red carpet for popcorn lovers on National Popcorn Day, January 19, with the debut of its first-ever “Bring Your Own Bucket” (BYOBucket) promotion.
Customers can bring in a clean container of their choice and fill it with fresh popcorn for just $5, no movie ticket necessary.
Don't think about bringing a storage container if you're a popcorn lover, container sizes are limited to 400 ounces — about 3 gallons or 50 cups. This special promotion is part of a larger celebration that includes $5 XL popcorn at all Cinemark locations for the ultimate movie experience. The national theater chain will also be running an additional sweepstakes on its Instagram account, allowing moviegoers the chance to earn free popcorn by tagging their friends in the comments. All online gift card purchases will also include a 10% discount during the event.
“National Popcorn Day is one of the best days of the year at Cinemark, and for popcorn lovers everywhere,” said David Haywood, Cinemark’s senior vice president of food and beverage. “We are thrilled to mark this year’s celebration with our first ever ‘Bring Your Own Bucket’ event, in addition to limited time sweepstakes and promotions.”
For those looking to purchase a special bucket, Cinemark offers a variety of collectible options at shop.cinemark.com, featuring themes from recent blockbuster releases. Fans are also encouraged to show off their buckets by tagging @Cinemark on social media.
