DC Universe: Robert Pattinson As The Dark Knight In New “The Batman” Trailer By Matt Reeves- Watch

The first trailer for one of the most anticipated DC Universe movies, "The Batman," by director, Matt Reeves, made its debut at the 2020 DC FanDome on Saturday (August 22).

The dark trailer shows Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne out on a mission to carry out justice as a vigliante amid a chaotic Gotham City while wearing his Batman costume. The storyline follows Bruce Wayne into "year two" of his role as Batman. The trailer also teases characters, Jeffrey Wright as Police Commissioner, James Gordon, and Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman.

'The Batman' also stars Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, and Paul Dano as The Riddler.

“Without being an origin story for him, it’s something that touches upon his origins,” Reeves said.

Other exciting reveals at DC FanDome’s virtual convention were the film’s update logo and a new piece of artwork illustrated by DC Comics artist , Jim Lee.

Over the past few months, Reeves has also shared BHS images of Robert Pattinson’s Batman costume and the new Batmobile.

Production on The Batman was halted due to the Covid-19 pandemic, however filming is expected to resume in September of this year. The Batman's new theatrical release date is slated for October 1st, 2021.
