Dina Lohan, who is free on bail, could face up to six months in jail if she pleads guilty to driving while intoxicated during a hit-and-run car incident on Long Island. On Wednesday (Jan 15) Lohan appeared before Judge Patricia Harrington in Nassau Court hearing with defense lawyer, Mark Jay Heller.
Lohan is accused of rear ending her new Mercedes-Benz into Honda CRV around 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the 2100 block of Merrick Mall while fleeing the scene intoxicated. According to Page Six, the court report states that the motorist involved in the crash called 911 and followed Lohan to her house. The responding officer found Lohan in her Mercedes driver’s seat with the engine on and the odor of alcohol on her breath, glassy eyes, and slurred speech. The officer asked Lohan to get out of the car. Lohan then fell to the ground and accused the officer of pushing her while claiming she had only had one glass of wine.
Prosecution for Nassau Court offered Lohan a plea deal for a six-month jail sentence and five years of probation. Lohan allegedly refused to take breathalyzer or field sobriety tests. She is being charged with felony DWI. Dina also faces other charges, including driving with a suspended license for failure to pay overdue state taxes. Lohan has a previous aggravated drunken driving charge she pled guilty in April 2014.
Judge Harrington held a brief conference at the request of Lohan’s lawyer, Mark Jay Heller, to continue Lohan’s case until Feb 27 without accepting the DA’s plea deal.
