The Lucha Vavoom "Pin-ups & Pin downs" Valentines Show packed the Mayan Theater in Los Angeles on February 12th and 13th in honor of Valentines Day. Masked fans awaited a sold-out show in a line that stretched a few blocks long. The show’s stellar line up included the Lucha Vavoom Mexican Wrestling cast, burlesque performances by Miss Miranda, Trixie Little, and Miss Tosh along with a live music performance by Starcrawler. The Price Is Right host, Drew Carey, co-hosted the event alongside comedian, Blaine Capatch days before the death of Carey's former fiancee, Amie Harwick. Harwick was allegedly murdered by her ex boyfriend after being thrown off the 3rd story balcony of a Hollywood Hills apartment on February 15th. Harwick was also a friend of the Vavoom family.

A Lucha Vavoom Facebook share:

We attended the night of Feb 13th. The show opened with the band Starcrawler who pretty much blew everyone away with their unforgettable performance. The band sounds like both fame and horror with a bit of a Nirvana mixed in. Starcrawler front woman, Arrow De Wilde mesmerized fans while singing in a white satin and rhinestone winged jumpsuit. Throughout the set, De Wilde wrapped the mic cord around her neck like a noose and danced around before jumping off stage into an unsuspecting audience to crowd surf. Watching the band perform with The Crazy Chickens dancing in the background is a sight I will never forget. From that point, the crowd was pumped for more action and I was a new fan.

Between wrestling matches, attendees were treated to the best of the best burlesque performances. On the night we attended, we caught performances by Miss Miranda, Trixie Little, Miss Tosh, and Veronica Yune with comedy bits sprinkled in between. Match-ups included the Sexi Mexi’s, Dirty Sanchez, El Mariachi Loco, Lil Cholo, The Crazy Chickens and more with high energy performances that had the fans screaming “Va Voom” from their seats.

To say the show is a good time would be an understatement. Lucha Vavoom is a must see if you are in the LA area. One word of advice would be to splurge on VIP seating if you can swing it. Sitting ringside changes the whole experience. The next show is LUCHA VAVOOM SUPER SEXI CINCO CELEBRATION on May 1st.
