HBO Max: Anne Hathaway Like You’ve Never Seen Her Before in Dahl’s “The Witches”

Anne Hathaway shared a short Instagram video giving fans a sneak peak of her character’s look in Roald Dahl’s “The Witches” on Wednesday (Oct.14) with her 18.5 million Instagram followers.

The clip features the 37-year-old Academy Award winner like you’ve never seen her before as the sharp toothed Grand Witch.

‘What has a witch ever done to you?’ Anne’s video caption read, while alerting her fans to The Witches’ October 22 premiere in the US on HBO Max.

Also starring in the fantasy-comedy are co stars Octavia Spencer as The Grandmother and Stanley Tucci as the hotel manager. Jahzir Kadeem plays The Boy and comedian Chris Rock narrates The Boy’s character as an adult.

Roald Dahl first introduced his fans to The Witches in 1983. In his previous adaptation, Anjelica Huston stars as the Grand High Witch. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, the studio opted for an exclusive US digital release on HBO Max instead of its original theatrical October release date due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The Witches will stream on HBO Max in the US and in theaters internationally on October 22
