Director Zack Snyder has leaked a sneak peek of footage from his version of Justice League trailer, which is slated to premiere on HBO Max in 2021. The news comes just 2 days ahead of DC FanDome.
DC Universe fans have been asking for the Snyder cut to be released by creating a social media movement with hashtag #ReleaseTheSnyderCut.
Snyder left in the middle of production on Justice League due to a family crisis. Director Joss Whedon took over the film and released the final movie with the storyline surrounding super villain, Steppenwolf. In Snyder’s director’s cut, the film will introduce super villain Darkseid, who wasn’t featured in Whedon’s version. Snyder's cut also includes never before seen footage of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman uncovering Darkseid.
In recent weeks, allegations have surfaced from Justice League Star, Ray Fisher who tweeted on July 1st, that filmmaker Joss Whedon’s “on-set treatment of the cast and crew of Justice League was gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable.”
Fisher blames producers Geoff Johns and Jon Berg for enabling Whedon to create a toxic work environment, who replaced Zack Snyder in May 2017, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Snyder’s director’s cut of Justice League is rumored to have included more scenes of Fisher’s character, compared to Whedon’s finished movie. On June 6th, Snyder retweeted Justice League star Ray Fisher’s tweet who played cyborg in the film. Fisher said I don’t praise Chris Terrio and @ZackSnyder for simply putting me in Justice League.
"I praise them for EMPOWERING me (a black man with no film credits to his name) with a seat at the creative table and input on the framing of the Stones before there was even a script! #BORGLIFE". said Fisher.
