Hip Hop Artist MF DOOM Died On Halloween At Age 49

In a statement released by MF DOOM aka Daniel Dumile’s family on Thursday (Dec 31) released by his wife Jasmin has confirmed the rapper passed away on October 31 . The “Born Like This” artist passed away at age 49 on October 31, 2020 (Halloween.) The cause of death was not mentioned.


The statement from the rapper’s wife Jasmine was posted to both Instagram and Facebook.



It began, ‘Begin all things by giving thanks to THE ALL!’ before continuing, ‘To Dumile’.


‘The greatest husband, father, teacher, student, business partner, lover and friend I could ever ask for. Thank you for all the things you have shown, taught and given to me, our children and our family,’ she continued.
‘Thank you for teaching me how to forgive beings and give another chance, not to be so quick to judge and write off. Thank you for showing how not to be afraid to love and be the best person I could ever be.’
‘My world will never be the same without you. Words will never express what you and Malachi mean to me, I love both and adore you always. May THE ALL continue to bless you, our family and the planet.’


She signed off, ‘All my Love Jasmine,’ before adding ‘Transitioned October 31,2020’.


News of his death was also shared by Rhymesayers, one of the many labels he worked with throughout his prolific career.


The London based hip hop artist is best known for some of the best progressive hip-hop albums of all-time, including Madvillainy with Madlib and Special Herbs. His solo album “Born Like This” was released in 2009 which was followed by three separate collaborative EP’s.



Two weeks ago, DOOM released a collaborative track with BADBADNOTGOOD entitled “The Chocolate Conquistadors.”



Rest in Peace DOOM! Thank you for the countless hours of beats throughout the years and for pioneering a new sound that will never be forgotten. A true visionary. Our condolences go out to his family and fans at this difficult time - The Big Magazine
