Last night the alternative band Jane's Addiction canceled the remaining tour dates following an onstage assault between Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro last week.

The band's show abruptly ended on September 13th in Boston, Massachusetts, shortly after Perry attempted to punch Dave Navarro.

In the aftermath, they cancelled a show that was supposed to take place on September 15 in Connecticut.

On Monday (September 16), the band issued a statement revealing that they decided to cut the tour short. Dave also issued a personal statement on the situation.

“To all the fans, the band have made the difficult decision to take some time away as a group. As such, they will be cancelling the remainder of the tour. Refunds for the cancelled dates will be issued at your point of purchase – or if you purchased from a third-party resale site like StubHub, SeatGeek, etc, please reach out to them direct,” the band wrote on Instagram.

Dave issued a separate statement on his Instagram account, which was cosigned by Eric and Stephen. You can read it in full below:

“Due to a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current US tour. Our concern for his personal health and safety as well as our own has left us no alternative. We hope that he will find the help he needs,” they wrote.

“We deeply regret that we are not able to come through for all our fans who have already bought tickets. We can see no solution that would either ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance on a nightly basis,” the bandmates signed off, writing, “Our hearts are broken.”

Before this drama exploded among the band, the Jane's Addiction tour was receiving terrible reviews. Fans reported a messy show with Farrell singing the wrong lyrics at the wrong time. The band later tried to explain the bizarre performance by dubbing the concert an "art show."

Navarro's caption reads: "STOP! In #nyc - So, last night was what we call an “art” show. Very avant-garde. Tonight we dialed back the art and turned up the show for a more balanced supply of both. Thanks New York City. It was an honor to play the rooftop tonight of all nights. #911"

Given the way things have unfolded with the band, we can assume the "art show" statement was code for "things are falling apart." Jane's Addiction band consists of singer Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins and bassist Eric Avery.

Refunds for Jane’s Addiction ticketholders will be issued from the point of purchase. If tickets were purchased from a third-party reseller (StubHub, SeatGeek, etc.), contact the site directly.
