Katy Perry Thanks First Responders After Collapsing on 'American Idol'
By Jalyn Mayer, February 24, 2020
Sunday's episode of American Idolfeatured more than just talented singers.
During the episode, judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie noticed a gas leak shortly before emergency alarms began blaring. As contestants and the production team rush out of the dangerous building, Perry takes a tumble in front of firefighters who arrived at the scene.
Katy Perry made sure to personally thank the first responders on her Twitter last night, writing, "Big shout out to all of our first responders around the country – thanks for risking your lives every day…and all night long”.
The cause of the fire was determined to be a pilot light in the show's kitchen and was promptly taken care of by firefighters on site. Three of which tried their hand auditioning for the show, all receiving golden tickets to Hollywood.
The Big Magazine wishes Katy a full and speedy recovery!
