KFC Rolls Out "Nashville Hot Chicken And Waffles" Just In Time For The Holidays

KFC, the world’s most popular chicken restaurant chain, is introducing a brand new dish just in time for the holidays, and the timing couldn’t be more perfect. Thanks to Thanksgiving and Christmas, November and December are times of the year where people often indulge in comfort food, before ditching it (or at least attempting to) for New Years. But this will be no ordinary dish, KFC is taking two, extremely popular, fan favorites and combining them.

In January of 2016, KFC launched Nashville Hot Chicken, a move that made it the first quick-service restaurant to serve the dish at an affordable price, and one that began a cultural trend of hot chicken that has spread nationwide. Hot chicken has popped up everywhere and can be found in many major cities, along the street sold in food trucks, or by food vendors. But KFC claims to be the first and the cheapest.

In November of 2018, KFC launched its take on the popular brunch dish; chicken and waffles. The meal was extremely popular, and after massive demands and requests from chicken and waffles loving fans, KFC decided to bring the meal back for a limited time in March of 2019. But now, in an unprecedented move, these two unique flavors will be combined into a single entree for your eating pleasure. Starting on November 18th, for a limited time, KFC will be serving Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffles. Combining spicy, smoky Nashville Hot Chicken, with Belgian Liege-style waffles creates an unbelievable taste that is equal parts sweet and spicy. Customers are sure to go wild for this.

"Our Nashville Hot Fried Chicken and Chicken and Waffles are arguably two of the biggest fried chicken innovations of all time," said Andrea Zahumensky, chief marketing officer, KFC U.S. "Now we're combining them into one amazing union that's sure to be the next big thing in America. It doesn't get hotter than that!"

There will be 3 options for the indulgence of this product:

1: choose between one breast, two-piece thigh plus drum, or three-piece tenders, and a waffle for $6.49

2: Choose between two-piece white meat, three-piece dark meat, or four-piece tenders, two waffles and a drink for $8.49

3: Extra crispy fried chicken breast, sandwiched between two waffles for $5.99

All three options will include Mrs. Buttersworth syrup and have the choice to come with, or without, the Nashville hot sauce.

Don’t feel like leaving home and trekking to the nearest store? You don’t have to, KFC is also partnering with GrubHub to give customers free delivery on these menu items until November 24th.
