La Scala Beverly Hills Secretly Advertised Indoor "Speakeasy" New Years Event Amid Covid-19 Pandemic

Curbed writer, Alissa Walker tweeted on Christmas night that she received a secret invitation to attend a private "speakeasy New Year's event" with her to-go order from famed italian restaurant La Scala in Beverly Hills, California.

“Welcome back to the 20’s Prohibition,” the message read. “We are currently taking reservations for New Year’s Eve dinner. Inside.”

Walker's tweet created an uproar in the local community which has now become the epicenter for the Covid-19 outbreak. Loyal patrons along with medical healthcare workers have denounced the invite and are boycotting the restaurant for advertising an indoor gathering while coronavirus case counts continue to soar.
