Pugh joins other major fashion houses who have modified their entire 2020 schedule with alternative fashion shows due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The multimedia portfolio surrounds 13 avant-garde designs by Gareth Pugh.

The Reconstruction visual album, produced by Pugh’s creative studio Hard+Shiny, includes a short film directed and written by the designer's husband and business collaborator, Carson McColl. The virtual fashion exhibit showcases a diverse cast of talented artists and models, including Maggie Maurer, Georgia Moot, alongside musicians Rina Sawayama and IAMDDB.

McColl posted a video announcement to his Instagram account @McCollywood on Wednesday promoting the world premiere of ‘The Reconstruction’ project for free on Thursday, September 17th on YouTube at 5pm GMT. The creative minds behind the film along with Pugh will host a Q and A following the film's debut.

His caption read:

Join us at 5pm GMT // 12pm EST // 6pm CET for the world premiere of ‘The Reconstruction’ — a zero-bullshit take on the role of fashion within the culture, and an access all areas pass to our creative process, from start to finish. ⠀

We’ll be on YouTube Premieres’ live chat from 5pm (for the pre-game warm up!) with the film kicking off at 5.15pm sharp. ⠀

Join the conversation. Link very much in bio ⚡ ⠀

The art of virtual fashion storytelling isn’t a new concept for Pugh and Knight. Their work together spans over a decade with similar fashion short films including a project dating back to 2017, produced by Knight, together with filmmaker Younji Ku and Britt Lloyd.

While the featured collection in the visual album is not for sale, merchandise with imagery from the project designed by Melissa Mehrtens and Pugh will be sold online. Proceeds from online ticket sales and merchandise will benefit the largest domestic violence organization in the United Kingdom, Refuge.

“The Reconstruction: A Visual Album” will open in Christie’s in St. James, London. Tickets for the live event are ten dollars and sold here.
