Mandy Moore claps back to fans backlash after posting In-Law Go Fund Me link.
The This Is Us actress, responded to fan backlash after she took to Instagram to share a fundraiser set up for her in-laws Griff and Kit Goldsmith who lost their home in the devastating Los Angeles fires. So far the go-fund-me campaign has raised $179,270 of a $175,000 goal with 1.7K donations as of January 10th.
After sharing the fundraiser, fans asked Mandy whether she was financially supporting The Goldsmiths.
“People questioning whether we’re helping out our own family or attributing some arbitrary amount of money google says someone has is NOT helpful or empathetic,” Mandy wrote on Instagram.
“Our buddy Matt started this go fund me and i’m sharing because people have asked how they can help them,” Mandy continued. “We just lost most of our life in a fire too. Kindly F OFF. no one is forcing you to do anything.”
She had turned off the comments feature on the Instagram post. To be fair, Moore shared a few more other Go Fund Me campaigns on her social following her in-law post. Everyone in Los Angeles is doing the best they can.
"Our best friends. Feeling weird survivors guilt. We love this community and will do everything we can to help rebuild and support. Thanks for everyone for checking on us and offering us help. Altadena strong." Moore said in a prior post.
