The Playstation Network is back online after being down for over 18 hours and the company has not said a word on why, gamers are pissed.

PlayStation, the global online service for consoles, has been offline for nearly a day. The company said it was aware of the outage but has given no explanation as to why and what has happened and when it will be back up.

As of Saturday morning (02/08/25) the platform is back online.

“We are aware some users might be currently experiencing issues with PSN,” PlayStation tweeted early on Friday UK time. It directed players to the official PSN “service status” page, which has shown errors since then but little additional information.

The issues began at around 11pm on Thursday evening, according to tracking website Down Detector.

PlayStation Network is no stranger to technical issues and hacks. The most notable hack came in 2011, when the company took the service offline but compromised the personal details incuding payment information of PS5 users. That attack led PlayStation to take a 23 day pause on its systems and consoles.
