Simu Liu and America Ferrera Joins 'Barbie' Live-Action Movie Starring Margot Robbie

Actor Simu Liu (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and America Ferrera (Ugly Betty) are the latest stars to join the cast of Greta Gerwig's highly anticipated live-action Barbie film.

Ferrera and Liu will star alongside Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. Ferrera shared the news on Instagram, writing, “Come on Barbie, let’s go party.”

Robbie will be playing the title character and Gosling will star as Ken in the upcoming movie, which will be directed by three-time Oscar nominee Greta Gerwig. Anne Hathaway was originally set to lead, then it was Amy Schumer, before Robbie landed the role.

Greta wrote the screenplay with her longtime partner Noah Baumbach, who is also a three-time Oscar nominee.

Ferrera will also star in Apple TV+ upcoming limited series We Crashed, with Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway debuting in March.
