On Thursday (Dec. 12) the 2019 Game Awards took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The Gaming Awards are like the Oscar’s of the gaming and e-sport world. Annually, gamers from around the globe attend this award show to peep the latest trailers and listen to keynote announcements that will change the landscape of gaming in 2020.
This year the show included special celebrity appearances and performances along with 29 categories from Best Art Direction to e-sports. One of the largest announcements made was by Vice President of gaming at Microsoft, Phil Spencer, who revealed “Project Scarlett” also known as the Xbox Series X, set for release - holiday season 2020.

Other highly anticipated news that dropped is the first PlayStation 5 title called Godfall, and the latest feature trailers like, Ghosts of Tsushima, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Cyberpunk 2077, The Wolf Among Us 2, Bravely Default II, and more.

Celebrities that made on-stage appearances were: Vin Diesel (Fast and Furious) Stephen Curry (Professional Basketball Player,) and Norman Reedus (Walking Dead) for Death Stranding.
Green Day, Grimes, and Chvrches took to the stage for musical performances along with a special appearance by the Muppets.
