The Swedish rock band The Hives performed at the Los Angeles Troubadour on Tuesday night to hundreds of screaming fans.
The show was to promote the release of the band’s new album, The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons, for sell on August 11th. The album features a collection of 12 punk rock tracks recorded in Stockholm at a studio owned by ABBA’s Benny Andersson and produced by Patrik Berger. “Randy Fitzsimmons” is actually a pseudonym for Hives guitarist Nicholaus Arson, who is also Almqvist’s brother.
They kicked off their set with their new single “Bogus Operandi,” and went on to play, Main Offender, Go Right Ahead, I’m Alive, Hate to Say I Told You So, and more! Full set list below.
The band played in matching black and white suits with frontman Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist, brother and lead guitarist Nicholaus Arson, Vigilante Carlstroem on rhythm guitar, drummer Chris Dangerous, and The Johan and Only on bass.
The Hives performance is the first of four US shows ahead of their UK 2023 tour.
